Merebrook in Whatstandwell, Matlock is a family-run real estate business. My family has owned Merebrook since 1972, and my wife Lynn and I still live here. The glorious setting beside the banks of the River Derwent inspired us to make Merebrook the location of choice for residential living.
We intend to do justice to our UNESCO World Heritage status so that owners can benefit fully from the wonderful surroundings, the local attractions and, above all, the magic that is Merebrook.
With Lynn, sons Charles and Thomas, and daughter-in-law Emily, it will be a pleasure for us to share this beautiful Derbyshire valley with you.
Merebrook is a UNESCO World Heritage Site at the foot of the Peak District National Park. The adjacent Cromford canal leads to an area of industrial heritage including Sir Richard Arkwright’s Cromford Mills and a delightful nature reserve. Close by are other places of interest including Chatsworth House, Crich Tramway Museum, the picturesque Derbyshire towns of Matlock and Bakewell – all accessible form the regular Transpeak bus service from the gates of Merebrook. Despite its secluded location Merebrook also has good rail links to Matlock and Derby.
