An idyllic, secure living environment
Merebrook, near the village of Whatstandwell in Derbyshire is set in a UNESCO World Heritage site at the foot of the Peak District. The family-owned park underwent massive redevelopment in 2005 and will provide over 60 luxurious residential homes in a tranquil woodland setting at the side of the river Derwent.
The owner, Adrian Daley, explained: "We always knew that Merebrook was the ultimate location but were surprised how quickly the properties have sold"
Merebrook has invested over £2 million in extensive landscaping, roads and security features including gated access and CCTV.
"We have created an idyllic, secure living environment where home owners feel safe and can enjoy the company of like-minded people." Added Adrian.
One of the first couples to set up home at Merebrook were Gordon and Denise McGregor who sold their family home in Birkenshaw, West Yorkshire to fund "an improved lifestyle".
Gordon (55), who took early retirement from his job as a head teacher, said: "When the children left home we decided to make a few life-changing decisions in an effort to improve the quality of our lives. "By accident we visited a caravan and camping show in Hull with friends and discovered park homes."
Denise McGregor (54) added: "We were amazed at the quality of the designs and the high specification of the interiors and quickly set about finding the ideal location for our new life-style. We looked at developments in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire before being persuaded to look at the Derbyshire Dales and Merebrook.
"We have found our Utopia and feel like recycled-teenagers." She added. |
